ALBUM SONGS

These songs are from the album 'Champions', created in the summer of 2013. The making of this album was a creative collaboration between me and two other musicians, Billy Casey on lead guitar and Max Dewing on vocals, bass and rhythm guitar. For this project, Max Dewing wrote the original progressions and melodies on guitar, along with the song lyrics and then Bill and I formed the arrangements and created the individual instrumental parts. As well as playing drums, I also managed and operated the recording equipment, which I set up in my own makeshift home studio and carried out the production, editing, mixing and mastering of each song with the assistance of a fourth project member, Guy Martin.

COMPOSING

Here is a short composition of mine, which I created using my own home setup. It combines both jazz and latin elements to form a fusion style track. I originally wrote the composition on piano and then I played and recorded all the parts except for the guitar and used Reaper software to arrange them into the final mix.

PLAYING LIVE

This is a clip taken from a local gig I played in 2015. The band here is 'Trainwreck', with Jack Dennis on bass and Billy Casey and Micheal Francis on guitar. The song is a cover of 'Scuttle Buttin', originally by Stevie Ray Vaughan from the album 'Couldn't Stand The Weather', released in 1984. We started rehearsing this song two days before the gig.
